On 21 October, Kenya and international donors signed the US$160 million Thamani Asili conservation programme to protect 173,000 square kilometres of biodiversity-rich landscapes over the next decade. The programme combines US$80 million in donor funding with an equal contribution from the Kenyan government and targets areas including Tsavo and the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
Environmental organisations, conservation operators and public agencies can explore opportunities in biodiversity monitoring, emissions reporting and climate-risk analysis. HPC can support environmental data systems and sustainability analytics; the US$160 million is programme funding, not a single supplier contract.
